The Walgreens Boots Alliance is in the process of selling the UK-based drugstore chain—Boots.

The Alliance initially explored selling Boots in 2022 but was abandoned because the company could not find a suitable buyer.

According to Bloomberg, the Alliance is contacting possible bidders for early-stage discussions for a sale worth about $8.78 billion (7 billion pounds). A formal sale process has not yet started.

Shares for the Walgreens Boots Alliance rose roughly 5% after Bloomberg announced the company was contacting potential buyers.
